What you need to know:
- I follow ACX or Findaway Voices standards.
- Hourly rate is the completed recording, or per finished hour (PFH).
- Includes all edits – I want you to be happy!
- I’m always open to negotiating rates that’s fair and workable.
- When possible, prepare a pronunciation guide for special words or names – it helps me deliver what you need.
Equipment and skills:
- Home studio recording
- Audio-Technica ATR2100x microphone, pop filter, Garage Band software and Bertom Denoiser Classic
- Language: English, American, General
- Voice timbre: Clear, Soft, Warm
- Voice Age: Thirty-something (30-40)
- No sexual, overtly violent, cursing or profanity content.
Rates:
My current rate for recording, editing and production is: $120 – 250 PFH (depending on complexity).
- How many hours of work are you getting? ACX estimates that a producer typically needs 6.2 hours, to complete one finished hour of an Audiobook.
- Prefer a fixed price? No problem. Let me know your total word count and I’ll send you an estimate.
- How long will your Audibook be? On average, one finished hour equals 9,300 words.

I had the pleasure of working with Suri in 2023 when she narrated the audiobook of my middle grade novel, Storm Crows.
She made the process very easy, communicating throughout, taking direction well, meeting deadlines, and providing clean files that met the requirements for Findaway Voices and ACX.
